DON’T EMPLOY A LADY AS YOUR P.A.
WARNING TO PASTOR
DON’T EMPLOY A LADY AS YOUR P.A. IF YOU’RE NOT IN CONTROL OF YOUR BODY” — BISHOP DAVID ABIOYE
A question from a woman about how to minister to a man without allowing the conversation to become emotional sparked a strong response from Bishop David Abioye.
The woman wanted to know how a female believer could speak to a man, particularly with the intention of helping or ministering to him, while avoiding emotional attachment and unhealthy boundaries.
Responding, Bishop Abioye described it as a “big, sensitive and real question,” warning believers not to enter situations that may expose them to temptation simply because their original intention is good.
Drawing from his own experience, he explained that he and his wife have ministered in difficult places, including brothels and drinking joints, but stressed that he would never go into such environments alone.
According to him, spiritual confidence should never replace wisdom. He referenced Samson as a warning and also pointed to Daniel, who requested that Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego remain around him.
Bishop Abioye then addressed workplace and ministry relationships between men and women, urging people to understand their own weaknesses and set clear boundaries.
“If you are not in control of your body, don’t deceive yourself and employ a lady as your P.A.”
He explained that neither person may initially have wrong intentions, but repeated closeness and constant contact can create risks that were never planned.
His central message was simple: not every temptation should be fought. Some situations should be avoided completely.
“Don’t say, ‘I’m strong, I can handle it.’ It may handle you.”
The message has opened an important conversation around boundaries, wisdom, emotional discipline and accountability in ministry and the workplace.
